A letter to our Rural Affairs Minister

A little girl

Reproduced from The Scottish Farmer 7th January with kind permission

Dear Mr Finnie

My mummy told me to write to you instead of Santa, coz you have all the presents this year.

First, I wish for a new tractor for daddy, coz he's been been in a very bad mood since some bad men in black suits took it away. He shouts at mummy and makes her cry.

Second, I wish for a new house for mummy, coz a bad man in a tweed jacket and funny yellow trousers came and told mummy she would have to move house coz daddy hadn't paid the rent. He made mummy cry and she flung a plant at him.

Third, I wish for a good home for Patch, my pony, coz mummy says we are going to visit Aunty Jean, in Canada and daddy says we're not coming back.
