"Britain is a non-starter in the
race to cure Sars"

As previously discussed on Land-Care (1)
the speed with which the international scientific community has
come together to combat Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (Sars)
is quite impressive. Unfortunately, while researchers in the US,
Canada, Germany and The Netherlands are leading the research, Britain
is again lagging behind.
It is not unreasonable to ask why scientific research
in Britain is failing? The problem is discussed by Magnus Linklater
in his article, "Britain is a
non-starter in the race to cure Sars", published in
the Times, 22 April 2003. This informative article can be viewed
on the Times website at the following address: www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,482-654812,00.html.
