As described on 17th October Cultybraggan
Farm had 12 bullocks forward at the Caledonian Mart (Stirling) Show
and Sale that was held on Monday 20th October (Click
Here to View as pdf)

At the show the Cultybraggan Bullocks
were awarded both the first and the second prizes for the best single
bullocks.
As Cultybraggan Farm has run a closed
herd for the past 4 years, these bullocks were homebred and sired
by the farm's stock bulls - in this occasion Limousin pedigree registered
bulls.
The highest priced bullock sold was
100% Aberdeen Angus, sired by our senior Aberdeen Angus pedigree
registered stock bull.
The Cultybraggan herd, consisting
of some 120 suckler cows, is run so as to achieve a mix of pure
Limousin, pure Aberdeen Angus and crosses between the two as illustrated
in the catalogue prepared for the sale, while taking care to ensure
that sufficient replacement heifers capable of becoming good milk
producers as suckler cows are generated.
