Assynt Crofter’s Trust in Trouble with their Dam

It is allegedly spoiling the salmon

A right row has erupted over the scheme executed by the Assynt Crofter’s Trust whereby they built a £600,000 hydroelectric plant in the hope that they could sell electricity to the national gird. The trouble is that apparently someone mis-advised them about whether or not there were any salmon in Loch Poll. Who could that have been?

The story is well told by journalist Jeremy Watson in Scotland on Sunday 27th October (Figure 1).
