Historic Scotland challenged

over ruined castle in Moidart

Hughie Donaldson, a crofter from Acharacle, is presenting a petition today at the Scottish Parliament, asking the parliament to amend the remit of Historic Scotland to ensure that it is accountable for its decisions and responsive to the views of communities.

The issue behind this is Historic Scotland's refusal to allow a private individual to restore Caisteal Tioram, a ruined castle in Moidart.

There is a possibility that it will be covered by Grampian TV and a further possibility that the organisation, People Too may be asked for their opinion.
